Happy Memorial Day from SKY Property Management!

Observed as a holiday on the last Monday of May, Memorial Day honors men and women who made a great sacrifice to serve in the United States Military. Remembering those who gave their life in service to the country, we celebrate their dedication to our freedom. While taking the time to remember those lost, it is also an unofficial start to summer marked by celebrating with BBQ's, boats, and poolside leisure.

While this year's holiday looks a bit different due to COVID, many celebrations will still carry on at a much smaller scale than what many are used to. Even with select retail and restaurants opening just in time for celebrations, social distancing will still be heavily required. The long-standing tradition of lowering the flag and holding vigils will stand strong in the Bowling Green community.

Typically, residents of Bowling Green, KY would be celebrating Memorial Day by enjoying the outdoors at landmarks such as Mammoth Cave, Lost River Cave, floating down the Green River, boating at Barren River Lake, or lounging poolside. While the open waters at several Kentucky lakes are still open, many parks have closed off public access and community pools have not been permitted to open just yet.

As we honor those who have fallen, 2020 Memorial Day will be remembered in a different light this year. It's not every year that we come together at a distance during a pandemic to traditionally celebrate the great heroes of our country. We are Kentucky Strong!
